Day 1: Fly to Kidepo Valley Park – Afternoon game drive
Your driver guide from African Apes Tours & Travel will pick you from your hotel or the airport and transfer to Kajjansi airstrip for your flight to Kidepo Valley National park. On reaching Kidepo Valley, you will check into the lodge, refresh and have lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive in the open savannahs of this beautiful park to see lots of animals feeding, socializing and resting
Day 2: Full day game viewing & Kanangorok Hot springs
Spend this whole day exploring the hidden beauty and wildlife plus birds in Kidepo Valley National Park. A game drive to the Narus valley offer you scenic views of wild animals grazing and predators hunting their preys. Expect to see lots of animals including Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Giraffes, Buffalos, waterbucks, warthogs, and Uganda kobs, Topis, Elands and Oribis among others. In the afternoon, drive to the northern part of Kidepo Valley park to visit the Kanangorok hot springs. The water of these Hot springs is believed to cure different skin diseases.
Day 3: Nature walk & Visit the IK people
In the morning, you will go for a guided nature walk to explore the beauty of Kidepo Valley National Park on foot. A walk to the swampy and forested areas of the park is a chance to see rare animals and birds hardly seen on game drive. The nature walk is best for bird watching to see various birds in Kidepo Valley National Park such as Graeatre Kestrel, Abyssinian roller, Rufous Chatterer, Chestnut weaver, White bellied go away bird, Fox kestrel, Black breasted barbet and Rose ringed parakeet among others. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon visit the indigenous IK people to learn and experience their traditions, norms and customs. Enjoy and be part of the traditional dances performed to entertain you.
Day 4: Fly to Entebbe
Have a relaxed sunrise breakfast at the lodge and get ready for departure. You can do an optional guided morning game drive if you like. Thereafter, transfer to Apoka airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe

BEST TIME TO VISIT KIDEPO
Kidepo Valley National Park is located on the North Eastern side of Uganda at the border with Kenya and South Sudan. It is situated over 700 Kilometers from the capital Kampala and is one of Uganda’s hidden treasures with a wide range of wildlife. The Park is surrounded by a rich cultural heritage of the Karamajong and the Ike people. It Shelters a wide range of Wildlife like the lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, elands, waterbucks, warthogs, giraffes, zebras, ostriches and very many bird species.
The best time to visit this park is for like July all through to March in the dry season when there’s not much rain to interrupt the game drives and also a good time to watch wildlife gathered at the waterholes. This does not however mean that you can’t visit Kidepo Valley National Park in other months of the year because Uganda’s weather favors all activities.
